BEE MINER- 14.1km
Trail hosted/created by: Mareeba Mountain Goats http://www.mareebamountaingoats.com/
Description & Grade: An awesome hand made trail incorporating so great views, rollovers over huge bedrock granite boulders and fast techy descents. It would be an IMBA graded blue with black unavoidable lines. This trail is quite difficult with plenty of climbing and fast technical descents – however, with time, care and patience it can be tackled by any rider with a moderate to good fitness level and confident bike handling skills
Access: Have a look at the attached Google earth GPS plot. Follow Tinaroo Creek Road for approximately 12.8km from the intersection with the Kennedy highway in to Mareeba until you reach a wide spot in the gravel road that provides good parking. What follows is a 5.8km climb up the fire road to the start of the “Bee Miner” single track. This climb is hard work with 368 meters gained in the 5.8km but the trail is well worth the effort.
When you get to the bee hives on the right hand side of the road you are almost there. 50mts further on, marked by pink tape is the start of the single track dropping down through the bush to an old miners trail.
