Didn’t the first round of the 2017 Interclub cross country series go off!
With 92 riders entered it was a huge field that lined up on a perfect Atherton summer morning and after all the blood [yes, there was some] sweat and tears [ok, maybe no tears. more grins] it was Dominic Hoyle and Anita Narula who emerged victorious in the elite classes at the pointy end of the field.
If you enjoyed this race then the next in the 4 race series is on Sunday 26th March in Cardwell hosted by the Cassowary Coast Multi Sports Club followed by Davies Creek hosted by the Mareeba Mountain Goats on the 9th April and the final round at Smithies on 21st May
Go to the clubs relevant social media and web sites for details and registration.
Note that to be in the running for the cash prizes on offer from Prime Constructions as series sponsor and overall series points you MUST compete in at least 3 of the 4 events
Last of all before you check out how you did in your class spare a thought for the volunteers working behind the scenes, Special thanks go to Rudi and Megan from the Mareeba Mountain Goats and Jeff Coward from Cassowary Coast Multi Sports Club for timing the event. Frank Fallapi from Cairns MTB Club for his skills as a commisaire and invaluable experience and advice running the event, Cathy and Killa for the BBQ and the marshals who kept you all honest.
Events cannot be run without help so at future events if you can spare a couple of hours while your better half, son, daughter, mate etc is riding/racing how about putting your hand up?
Drum roll please
